As we are not equipped to take disclosures or provide support services to those impacted by sexual violence, we have compiled a non-exhaustive list of resources across so-called “Canada”. For more information please visit our Terms of Service.
We encourage you to refer to Ending Violence Association of BC’s comprehensive list of resources available via their Services Directory which allows you to search for services based on your postal code.
BC 211 is a free and confidential service that connects people to helpful and vital resources in their community. Available in 240 languages and dialects.

Vancouver Island Crisis Line is available 24/7 for Access the following services through the VI Crisis Line: general crisis support, suicide prevention, access to SART, and access to Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team (Emergency Mental Health).

Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS) Crisis Line workers are available to provide emotional support, resources in the community, to assess women in their coping strategies, to highlight their strengths and to help create a safety plan for women who are dealing with violence and/or the effects of abuse.

Haven Society (Nanaimo/Parksville/Qualicum) provides and maintains shelter for women of all ages, who have been physically, sexually and/or emotionally abused and for their children. Haven also offers programs and services including information, counselling, crisis support and advocacy services.

Salal Sexual Violence Support Centre (formerly Women Against Violence Against Women (WAVAW)) offers anti-oppressive, decolonizing, intersectional feminist support to survivors of sexualized violence.

Bridges for Women provides programs, services, and support for women impacted by trauma, violence, abuse, or neglect and help them build economic stability and independence.

Men’s Therapy Centre (formerly Men’s Trauma Centre) provides support and/or counselling services to any man*: cis, gay, bi-sexual, trans, non-binary, 2spirit, queer, genderfluid, who has experienced emotional, physical or sexual trauma in childhood or as an adult.

Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) is a non-profit Indigenous-led organization located on Southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. They have a comprehensive list of resources available at the above link on the following topics: finding food, shelter, work, transportation resources, mental health, substance use, family, child & youth, cultural spaces, and more.

Victoria Sexual Assault Centre (VSAC) is a feminist organization committed to ending sexualized violence through healing, education, and prevention. They are dedicated to supporting women and all Trans survivors of sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse, through advocacy, counselling, and empowerment.

Atira Women’s Resource Society is a not-for-profit organization committed to the work of ending violence against women, providing housing, counselling, and outreach services.
Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre provides a safe, non-judgmental environment for self-identifying women (cis, trans, 2S), from all walks of life, who live and/or work in the Downtown Eastside. DEWC provides supportive surroundings with meals, counselling, advocacy, and programs which nurture and empower members.
Helping Spirit Lodge Society (HSLS) is an Indigenous women’s organization providing wrap-around services to women and children fleeing domestic violence as well as homeless individuals and families.
MOSAIC (Multi-lingual Orientation Service Association for Immigrant Communities) is one of Canada’s largest settlement non-profit organizations providing newcomer services including counselling for women survivors of violence or abuse.
PACE Society provides confidential, non-judgmental services for sex workers, including occupational health and safety education, support, advocacy, outreach, and drop-in services.
Ending Violence Association of BC (EVA BC) provides referrals, support, and information is provided to help connect victims and programs with the appropriate service.
